ACCOUNTS OFFICER

Duties and responsibilities
1.Prepare monthly finance reports of head office and other projects.
2.Prepare monthly statutory returns.
3.Preparation of bank reconciliation statements.
4.Deduction updates and draws money when required.
5.Preparing vouchers both receipts and payments.
6.Handling petty cash.
7.Prepare payroll for staff.
8.Other duties as may be required.
Qualification and experience
At least two years experience.
Holder of Bachelor degree/Advanced diploma in Accounting, Finance or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
Must be a computer literate.
Excellent communication skills.
Problem solving skills.
Able to apply knowledge to new practices.

Basic Function of Position

Purpose of the position:
To provide management and support to  the Technology and Innovation Unit in ensuring the identification, piloting, introduction and scaling-up of innovative technology solutions that make sense to the people with whom we work and ensuring that they become embedded in World Vision Tanzania culture and programmers.

Major Responsibilities:
1: Facilitate identification and piloting of innovative technology that support effective WVT’s  design and implementation work in baseline, evaluations and monitoring as well as aggregation of results for child well-being indicators and their reporting that will increase donor engagement and transparency.
2: Facilitate in collaboration with partners identification and application of mobile technology innovations, radio technology solutions and weather-forecasting technology in communities
3: Facilitate mapping out of World Vision Tanzania (WVT) areas of operations, including the natural and social characteristics of the intervention areas, to help WVT better understand the nature of the communities and their particular areas of vulnerability, as well as household demographics.
4:Facilitate implementation of mobile technology interventions as a means of communicating with small-holder-farmers essential information on markets and market-prices, farm inputs, farm practices etc, to help farmers make appropriate farming decisions.
5: Facilitate in collaboration with partners development of a short, medium and long-range weather forecasting system and ensure accessibility of this information to staff and partners to inform them prevailing climate change trends and enable farmers and all partners make better and more informed choices about the type of seeds, planting and harvestings of their crops.
6: Work in collaboration with partners to establish a database for household information of individual participating farmers in WVT’s programmes.  To help in tracking  actual progress and development of farming communities using real, household-level data including under five children, youth and families well being.
7: Facilitate in collaboration with partners who works with local radio stations to develop and broadcast interactive radio programmers’ for rural communities to provide information and learning opportunities to farmers in order to enhance their knowledge and skills to improve their economic opportunities.
8: Facilitate scaling-up of Community Knowledge Centers (CKC) model and vision in 30 more ADPs to provide a technology hub in a rural community that can offer technology services as well as provide economic and employment opportunities for young people.
9: Facilitate implementation of  WVT Knowledge Management (KM) operational framework to ensure all WVT operation’s data, information and knowledge is stored in a central location accessible to all staff and partners anytime anywhere over the cloud-based server.
Qualifications:  Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
Minimum Qualification required:  Masters Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) Business Administration or Project Management.
Experience:  The ideal candidate will be a self-directed with 5+ years of business experience with a proven, measurable track record of success and display strong interest in the power of creativity and innovation to positively impact business and organizations effectiveness.

To provide strategic leadership in the empowerment of church (and community) leadership for holistic community transformation through mobilization process and exploitation of locally available resources for sustainable transformational development within their communities

Major Responsibilities:
  1. 1.    Strategic Engagement
  • Develop strategic partnership with key like-minded organizations to empowering the church (and community) leadership to exploit local resource for holistic transformational development
  • Develop, review and update strategic plan, annual operating plan and budget
  • Develop concept papers and proposals for Church for Community transformation
  1. 2.    Empowering and mentoring leaders
  • Strategize and implement plans for exposure visits of key strategic church (and community leaders) leaders to evidence-based locally resourced organizations such as Christian Impact Mission (CIM), Tearfund  and others
  • Execute strategies for empowering church (and community) leadership through biblical worldview modules in partnership with Samaritan Strategy Africa for the transformation of peoples’ mindset

  • Identify and support most productive individuals to establish model farms as learning sites
