The Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) is an autonomous Government Agency established by the Act of Parliament No. 1 of 1994. VETA is responsible for regulating, coordinating, financing and providing, Vocational Education and Training in Tanzania. VETA is an equal opportunity organization.
The Authority is expecting to implement a Pilot apprenticeship project in partnership with Hamburg Chamber of Skilled Craft of Germany which will last for three (3) years.
Therefore, the Authority is looking for qualified, competent, dynamic and committed Tanzanians to fill the following vacancies:
Position and Required Qualifications
Location/Duty Station: Dar es Salaam RVTSC
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required
Must have completed form IV
Must possess a Diploma or FTC certificate in Electrical studies Possession of Vocational Teaching Certificate is an added advantage;
Must have at least 3 years practical working experience in the relevant field, Candidate must have 30 years of age.
Attitudes and Competencies Required
Use of machines, standing for long hours awkward/difficult position/postures; Must be able to prepare Technical reports;
Must be' fluent in both Kiswahili and English;
Must demonstrate diplomacy in communicating with Trainees;
Main Duties/Tasks:
Prepare practical training schemes and plans
To prepare Practical learning environment and deliver practical training to apprentices as per' required performance standards.
To prepare and deliver related knowledge lessons to back-up apprentices assimilation of practical competences.
To assess apprentices "continuously maintain assessment records and prepare reports on their progress.
Guide apprentices on the safe use of tools and equipment.
Ensure workshop safety and accident prevention.
Employment Terms:Three (3) Years terms of contract

Position Description:
Responsibilities
=Responsible for doing site visit/survey and prepare technical requirements.
=Responsible for designing/preparing technical solutions and proposals
=Capable of installing and troubleshooting windows based systems.
=Knowledge of MS Exchange Server 2010, installation and troubleshooting
=Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, design and installation. (Microsoft Certified, MCSA)
=Should have a knowledge of networking, LAN (wi-fi) and WAN. (eg MPLS and VPN) Cisco Certifications CCNA/CCNP
=Basic understanding of IP Telephony services. [Asterisk/ Cisco Call Manager]
=Basic understanding of storage networking NAS/SAN  and virtualization.
=Perform other systems support duties as assigned by Chief Technology Officer
=Understanding of network/information security and firewalls.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
1 Year or 2 Years of experience is essential
Capable of Communicating in English and Swahili, both verbally and in writting.
Bachelors Degree in Information Technology/Computing or Advanced Diploma in IT/Computing
