TANROADS is a semi-autonomous Agency responsible for maintenance and development of Trunk and Regional Roads Network in Tanzania Mainland, implementation of road safety and environmental measures, provision of advice on the strategic framework, policies and plans for the road sector. It is also mandated with a responsibility of conducting Axle Load Control Operation using Weighbridges.
The Regional Manager’s Office TAN ROADS – Arusha, on behalf of the Chief Executive, TAN ROADS, intends to recruit suitable qualified and competent Tanzanians to fill the following various vacancies in the region on Contract terms (Renewable subject to satisfactory performance) in order to improve effectiveness and efficiency in Axle Load control operatives.
Successful applicants must be ready to work daily on ‘shift’ bases including Weekends and Public Holidays. They should also be prepared to work for considerable lengths of time away from their permanent stations, if situations warrants.
 
1. REGISTRY CLERK
Position Description:  Educational/Professional qualifications:-
A National Form IV/VI certificate
Must have a Records Management Certificate recognized Institution.
Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
Fluent in both Kiswahili and English
Work Experience: At least 1 years
Age Limit:26 years to 40 years

2. Weighbridge Operators (Eleven Post) 
Position Description:


Educational/Professional qualifications:-
Must have an FTC or Ordinary Diploma in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (NTA 6) from a recognized Learning Institution/Colleges.
Computer literate (At least Advanced Certificate in Computer Applications).
Fluent in both Kiswahili and English
Age Limit: Not above 35 years of age.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Enforcing Road Traffic Axle Load Control by the use of Weigh bridge scale devices.
Overall Operation of shift activities.
Weigh Motor vehicles of Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) >3.500kg on all Public roads.
Imposing road damage fee on the spot for overloaded vehicle.
Measuring physical dimension of motor vehicles or any load being carried on the motor vehicle for providing advices to transporters in case of non compliance with vehicle dimension limits.
For trucks carrying abnormal load with special permit, the Weighbridge Operator shall ascertain compliance to the permit. Any discrepancy should be reported to the Weighbridge In- charge for appropriate action.
Record all necessary particulars regarding the motor vehicle being weighed.
Observing good customer care, dignity, integrity and strict compliance with laid down day to day procedure.
Reporting all matters on Axle Load Control to the Weighbridge In Charge.
Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Weighbridge In Charge /Regional Manager.

3.Office Attendants
Position Description:

Educational/Professional qualifications:-
A National Form IV certificate
Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
Fluent in both Kiswahili and English
Age Limit:   Not above 35 years of age.
Duties and Responsibilities;
Cleaning offices, washrooms and office premises;
Preparing and serving tea, coffee and refreshments;
Moving files and documents as-directed:
Undertaking photocopying or binding of documents as directed;
Dispatching letters or parcels;
Observing good customer care, dignity and integrity.
Reporting all matters to the Weighbridge in Charge.

4.Security Guards (Three Post)
  Position Description:


Educational/Professional qualifications:-
A National Form IV certificate
Must have a Peoples Militias Certificate
Fluent in both Kiswahili and English
Age Limit:Not above 35 years of age.
Duties and responsibilities:     
Guards Agency buildings, property and other assets
Checks and records vehicles and pedestrian entering and leaving Agency properties
Apprehends anyone trying to steal or damage Agency’s property and immediately informs the management and/or the police
Assists in criminal cases involving theft or damage of Agency property
Ensures that all windows and doors are closed after office hours.
Performs any such other related duties assigned by superior

RECEPTIONIST (2 POSTS) Position Description:

National Housing Corporation (NHC) is inviting applications from suitably qualified .dynamic and good team player to fill the position of RECEPTIONIST in its Directorate of Regional Operations and Administration.
The Receptionist reports to the Senior Administration Officer and has overall responsibility of ensuring good customer services and prompt service delivery.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:
As the first point of contact for most customers, endeavors to answer telephone enquiries in an efficient, friendly and professional manner.
Ensures that all guests are received in a good manner and directs them to the appropriate officers/office. Makes and receives telephone calls for staff and transmit messages accordingly.
Keeps detailed and updated records of calls made through the switchboard including monitoring telephone bills to correspond with switchboard usage.
Operates the telephone Switchboard and ensure that the Switchboard functions at all times and to report promptly on all telephone defects.
Provides assistance in the administration and maintenance of corporation records
Participates in key result area and key performance indicator review processes to establish areas for improvement
Maintains a high professional and ethical profile in accordance with Corporation standards of core values May also provide administrative and secretarial support to the Administration Department..
Qualifications and Experience:
A holder of Diploma in front Desk /Office Management or Customer Service Management.
A Post Graduate study in relevant field will be an added advantage.
The applicant should have an age of between 24 to 35 years.
He /She must have working experience of at least 5 years as a receptionist in a reputable organization. Experience in the real estate industry shall be an added advantage
He/she must have strong administration skills and ability to communicate at all level.
Must have ability to create a positive, everlasting impression with the most professional, courteous and expedient manner.
Must have good communication skills in both English and Kiswahili Must be computer literate
Must be customer focus and flexible team player Must have good planning and organizational skills
