DATA ANALYST- TRANSACTION & CUSTOMER- AFRICA REGIONAL TEAM

The Transaction & Customer Data Analyst’s main goal is to facilitate the understanding of our mobile telephony customers in our African operations; by accessing and analyzing transaction and customer data in order to provide quality insights to global and local management and help identify commercially viable offers.........

The position plays a key role in driving the firm’s continuing efforts in developing business intelligence and analytics capabilities in order to improve marketing effectiveness, customer retention & satisfaction and ultimately, customer profitability. The Transaction & Customer Data Analyst will report to the Head of Analytics with dotted line reporting to the Africa regional team.
Key Responsibilities

- Provide data analytics expertise or business case support to internal customers utilizing various statistical techniques to resolve or support business issues/scenarios
- Develop a robust customer data analytics framework which allows the organization to receive information in a systematic, accessible and transparent manner
- Creating a consistent framework and work closely with local and Group IT to ensure continued data integrity, storage, processing and distribution

- Understand, access, manipulate, analyse and provide customer insights through:
o Application of advanced analytical capabilities (statistical, financial and business)
o Analytical papers/reports depicting trend analyses, spending and usage patterns of customers, and probability that certain situations may or may not occur
- Work with commercial and finance teams in:
o Identifying/assessing acquisition activities
o Identifying/assessing retention, revenue stimulation, cross-selling and upselling opportunities
o Support in designing campaign pilots for offers and other marketing activities
o Prepare analysis on on-going or past campaigns and / or any marketing initiatives and recommend appropriate course of actions
o Supporting the launch of new product/service initiatives
- Identifying & managing external data analytics partners
- Integrate systematically data analytics into internal consumer understanding processes

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Sciences
- Knowledge in data manipulation language / package
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commercial acumen
- Strong project management skills
- Financial modeling
- Ability to develop new techniques or approaches
- Fluent English speaker, French desirable

..MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

- 1-3 years of experience with proven track record in similar position, from telco, high tech or data intensive industry
- Hands-on experience in data analytics and in developing & implementing appropriate advanced analytics techniques such as predictive modeling, propensity scoring, elasticity models, customer segmentation & customer lifetime value analysis
